In this region, the difficulty of trying to get "the shot" means loading heavy packs with camera gear and trekking into the wilderness... but the payoff is well worth the pain.
DIY
Palmer and Brock flew in to El Calafate, Argentina. There are many options for trips out of El Calafate, including a bus service to El Chalten, which was the starting point of this adventure. There are plenty of amazing trails for backing right out of town, which makes it a great base camp. Plan extra time in your itinerary to wait out bad weather; some people come here and never even see the mountains!
