Backpacking
Backpacking is the ultimate way to experience the wild, and the North Coast Trail is quite a wild place! No cell phones, rough trails, isolated beaches, and no easy way out make for a unique backpacking adventure.

Logistics
A 6 day backpacking trip is basically all about gear and planning. The longer time on the trail means a bit more equipment and food, so packs can get out of control if you're not careful. Having the right clothing and equipment is essential.

DIY
The North Coast Trail is on the Northwestern tip of Vancouver Island. Its' remoteness is evident in the logistics of getting on and off of the trail: Most hikers hire a boat taxi for one end and a bus taxi for the other. The nearby town of Port Hardy has all the pre and post hike amenities you need, as well as plenty of other adventure opportunities if you have the time!
